When you consider that over 60 percent of Americans are overweight you realize that obesity is a serious problem. Weight loss is an important part of being able to live a longer and happier life. And while being obese not only causes over 350,000 deaths each year there are a large portion of our society that are suffering from heart disease, cancer and diabetics with the direct cause being obese.
And while most of these people want to lose weight they simply don’t have the knowledge or willpower to do so and therefore succumb to a life of being overweight and humilated due to their size. But making some simple changes in your lifestyle will go a long way toward your weight loss.

1. First and most important….Never give up. When you give up – you lose. As long as you are trying you have hope to take the next step. So NEVER GIVE UP.
2. Get rid of all the junk food. You know what it is. It’s all that stuff in your frig, cabinets and probably at your bedside. And don’t get rid of it by eating it. That will go a long way towards your weight loss. Make up your mind that today is the first day of the rest of your life… throw that junk in the trash. Get it out of your life now. Then you can start looking for some delicious low calorie recipe. And there are some good one out there.
3. Start drinking water. Diet colas are junk food. They don’t help you lose weight and they cause dehydration, cramps and they suck the calcium right out of your bones. Get rid of them. Start drinking water.
4. Get a good nights sleep. Sure it’s going to be hard at first going to bed every night without eating a bunch of junk food. But you’ll find that if your stomach isn’t having to work all night digesting food you will actually start sleeping better. With your weight loss it will become easier every day.
5. O.K. This is the worst one for me. But it is one of the keys to weight loss. Start Exercising. That doesn’t mean that you have to go to the gym everyday and workout. You can start by just walking around your neighborhood. Enjoy the fresh air and look around and enjoy being outside. Start small and increase it everyday. Soon you will be jogging around the neighborhood and you’ll be the envy of all your neighbors. Your weight loss will be apparent very quickly. Also find someone to walk with you. You’ll enjoy the company and the both of you can motivate each other.
